QIS-160 Integrated System

Integrated Systems QIS-60 QIS-160 QuietPack Radio Remote
It's important to remember as we go through some of the specifications of the QIS-160 (pictured above) that one of the great advantages of the Quantum Integrated System is our ability to design, create, and deliver a custom system that meets your specific need to the smallest detail.

QIS-160:
Height 54.619"
Width 45.444"
Depth 27.694"
Weight with oil, 1800 lbs.
HYDRAULICS: Maximum hydraulic flow: 110GPM @ 4000PSI
Maximum system operating pressure: 4150PSI
POWER: To support main user of 280 HP, generally the bow thruster:
  1. Two 20HP (=40HP) electric motor (configured to match vessel requirements)
    WEG™, IP55 FRAME, 284TC,
    construction material- steel
Total system power- max 280 hp
  2. Engine or generator driven hydraulic pumps- Quantum engineering supported for type, location, drive.
Rexroth™, 100 -250cc for primary; 45cc for auxiliary; pressure compensated, hp controlled
  3. (See the KTR Corporation for material and expertise to supply couplings to join builder supplied engines or generators to Quantum supplied pumps. If you click the link you will be directed to their online catalog which features a wide range of suitable couplings or you may e- mail John Dick, Senior Application Engineer.)

Aluminum, stainless steel, steel, or other material as required by classification society or surveyor.
NOISE
SUPPRESSION:
State of the art in-line nitrogen charged silencers reduce hydraulic noise on pump pressure lines. Hose configuration is critical, and hose and tubing are chosen, formed, and run following the best sound suppression techniques known today. A dampening element couples the pumps and motors, which reduces both mechanical and hydraulic noise. Flexible elastomeric mounts cradle the pump and motor assembly, and fluid components are secured and isolated with Quantum quality and attention to detail. Also, we engineer noise reduction into the Quantum Integrated System from the outset, and we do not approach the problem with add-ons.

Our goal is to provide clean, quiet, and efficient hydraulic power in the most user-friendly package available in yachting. To that end, Quantum Integrated Systems run at what is considered today the high end of the medium pressure range. Accordingly, there is less flow, which allows us to use smaller tubing, smaller motors and pumps, and less fluid.

Our systems are quieter than the low pressure/high flow systems available elsewhere, and our state-of-the art noise suppressors mean that our most recent test on a QIS-60 with a dB meter showed 69 db at 8 feet from the unit under fully loaded conditions in our shop, which had an ambient sound level of 60 db at the time of the test. We consider the QIS-60 and the QIS-160 to be our production units.

While we expect differences in the individual units because they are configured to different boatbuilders' requirements, and the machinery spaces they occupy will be different, the decibel reading presented above is a figure we consider to be representative of the success we have achieved in reducing hydraulic and mechanical noise in our systems to the lowest possible level.

CONTROL
OPTIONS:
Radio remote control.
NEW! Quantum RADIO REMOTE CONTROL available!

Quantum can design and produce a radio remote control that provides secure control to selected functions.

One example: for use on the bow, controlling two windlasses, an anchor wash pump, and the bow thruster.
Other examples would include passerelles, and hydraulic access doors.
QUANTUM RADIO REMOTE
MONITORING:
  • Fluid level:  two-step switch- low level alert, and lower level shut down.
  • Fluid temperature- local and remote.
  • Sight gauges for level and temperature.
  • Power consumption meter for auxiliary electric unit.
  • Quantum engineering support- able to sync with any ship's monitoring system. System status and alarms can be custom configured to seamlessly interface with ship's systems.
  • Test ports- at numerous locations throughout the hydraulic system. Allows monitoring of hydraulic flow and pressure for quick and clean system analysis.
FILTRATION: 90 micron suction filter
10 micron return filter
Pressure filters- to user's specifications as required.
DESIGN: Quantum Marine Engineering of Florida, Inc.
